Interview-related Questions
Q. Date and location of
Interview. Were you given the option to choose? Was the interview date fixed or
rescheduled couple of times.
A. 10-March-2006. There was no option to choose for it. But yeah, because
of my work, I got my timings re-scheduled from the morning slot to evening slot
after requesting them.
Q. Can you tell us
about the panel that interviewed you?
A. 4 member penal - 2 male and 2 females. The penal consisted of our
present Dean, one HR Professor, one Marketing and one OB Professor.
Q. How long was your
interview?
A. Around 15 minutes.
Q. What was the first
question? The most interesting question? The most difficult question?
A. First Question: Tell me something about yourself.
Interesting Question: Discuss about the difference in the choreography style of
Saroj Khan and Farah Khan.
Difficult Question: None.
Q. How did you prepare
for the interview? While facing the panel, were you confident, did you feel
prepared?
A. I prepared myself based on what I had written on application form and
the SOP. I was grilled big time on the SOP and my work experience. Also, daily
reading of newspapers and magazines helped with few questions.
Yeah, I was pretty confident and that's what matters at the end of the day as
every one comes more or less prepared.
Q. Was any feedback
given to you? What feedback did you receive from the panel at the end of
session?
A. No feedback was given.
Q. Did work experience
help in getting the choice of your school and also in dealing with the
curriculum?
A. Yes, it really helped me as the major part of the interview was based
on my work experience and the other GK questions related to my project.
My work experience does help me in dealing with the strenuous academic
curriculum at FMS as well.
Q. Getting into and
sailing through a B-school is easier for a Science Graduate than for someone
from Humanities background. Your comments please.
A. Though the trends does support the above view, at the same time I feel
that its about the attitude and aptitude in that order, rather than your
background.
Q. Will an MBA degree
add on to your existing career plan or did you decide to switch/start a career
in management?
A. I wish to take up my career in Finance as I have strong inclination
for the same, thus, making a switch from IT to Finance.
Q. Why did you decide
to do MBA from this school?
A. Strong alumni base, excellent faculty, location, student-driven
culture and excellent placements.
Q. Were you able to get
the school of your choice or did you compromise and opted for the best option
that was open/available for you?
A. FMS-Delhi was definitely a school of my choice.
