By the My MBA Career Content Team Find Top MBA Degree Programs The U.S. government recently took measures to widen access to small business opportunities for MBAs and entrepreneurs.
On September 1, the Small Business Administration (SBA) launched an online training course entitled Recovery Act Opportunities: How to Win Federal Contracts.
"Government contracts can play a key role in helping small businesses turn the corner in terms of expansion and job creation," said SBA administrator Karen Mills. "But make no mistake, the benefits the government receives are equally as impressive - working with small businesses allows the federal government to work with some of the most innovative companies in America, often with direct contact with the CEO."
The training course is part of a federal initiative launched by President Obama and MBAs and entrepreneurs who take advantage of it will have access to useful information about the federal marketplace, contracting rules, how to sell to the government and where to find opportunities. Best of all, the course is a free service and can be accessed on the SBA's website.
If you're interested in government contracting but don't yet hold an MBA degree, consider enrolling in a MBA program today. The skills you'll acquire combined with help from the U.S. government could be enough to get you on your way to a very fulfilling career.
