Background
Q. Can you tell
something about yourself and your pre-MBA qualifications?
A. I, Praveen Kumar S, am a student of 1st year PGPM 06-08, Indian
Business Academy, Greater Noida, NCR-Delhi. A person who believes in hardwork
and constant learning, to achieve success in life. I belong to Bangalore, the
silicon valley of India. I have done B.E. in E&C with 74%, RVCE, Bangalore, VTU,
Karnataka. I am from science background.
Q. So when did you
decide to go for MBA?
A. When I was in 10th class. But this got a new face when I entered 1st
year of my B.E., because I was motivated and supported by my seniors.
Q. What was your first
step to start preparation for getting into the school of your choice?
A. I firstly started contacting students of top B-schools in Bangalore,
some of these were IIM-Bangalore, Christ College, St. Joseph College. And I
asked about their experiences and suggestions to crack the MBA Exams.
Q. Which MBA institutes
and programmes you identified for your MBA?
A. I chose only top five B-schools in Bangalore, as I didn't want to go
out of Bangalore. And I chose PGDBM in these B-schools. Finally, I got my MBA
seat in IBA, which stands 3rd in Bangalore. IBA has two campuses - one in
Bangalore and one in Greater Noida. I had options of choosing. I opted for
Greater Noida, as they were providing the same infrastructure and exposure to
the corporate world, but for me it would be a new place, where I would come in
contact with different people, different culture. Here, I would be able to put
myself to test as to how I would adept to different environment.
