Q. How many months and
how many hours daily did you devote for preparation to entrance procedures?
A. 9 months, 4 hours every day.
Q. Did you take up some
coaching institute or you believed in self-study?
A. Coaching at Career Launcher.
Q. Can you tell us
which are your favorite books, books that you used for preparing for entrance,
books for self-development and books for pure relaxation?
A. Norman Lewis, Goal, Tuesdays with Morrie, The Fish Tales The
Alchemist, Eleven Minutes, The God of Small Things, Freconomics.
Q. When did you start
your preparation?
A. June 2005.
Q. What was your
experience with coaching? Some feedback about faculty, coaching material and
your overall experience with particular center?
A. At Coaching Institute, you can get a feel of competition which is not
possible with self study. That way, coaching was nice. Faculty was quite good,
especially of QT and English, both were under 30, so alive and friendly. The
material was comprehensive and quite sufficient.
Q. What was your
strongest and weakest area while preparing for MBA coaching?
A. Strongest was QT - especially Geometry. Weakest was Vocabulary
section.
Q. Some tips which you
used for mastering Quant, RC, etc.
A. In Quant:
Geometry: As per question, imagine the 3-D figure and then put every instruction
in it.
Algebra: Read the question in parts and make equations, do not treat the full
question in one time.
Trigonometry: Be well-versed with all the formulas especially angle-side
relations.
In RC:
Read as much as you can, increase your reading speed first and then your
comprehension.
Q. How much time did
you put for MBA preparation everyday? How did you manage this while working
full-time?
A. Other then coaching classes, 4-6 hours study every day was more then
enough. Do read newspapers regularly and then give specific time to every study
area.

B-schools you applied to?
A. Exams - CAT, XAT, SNAP, IRMA.
B-schools - XLRI-Jamshedpur, XIM-Bhubaneswar, MDI-Gurgaon, IMI-New Delhi,
SIBM-Pune, SCMHRD-Pune, SIIB-Pune, GIM-Goa, IRMA-Anand.
