Background
Q. Can you tell
something about yourself and your pre-MBA qualifications?
A. I am N. Aditya from the Bharathidasan Institute of Management,
Bangalore. I did my schooling from St. Patrick�s High School, Secunderabad, and
my Inter from Gautami Jr. College. I am passionate about marketing, quizzing,
debating, networking, and I do edit articles in the Wikipedia, Initially, I had
ventured into CA and CWA and completed the foundations respectively, however,
had to leave it aside due to various reasons, a few being expiry of my mother,
too much emphasis on competitions and events which made me more passionate in
the field of marketing. I am a voracious reader of books, magazines and
journals.
Q. So when did you
decide to go for MBA?
A. Initially, I had thought that I would go for an MBA after I complete
my CA, but I had already taken full-time coaching at TIME. I had my CA and CAT
in November and I decided not to take CAT that year, but I did take SNAP Test
and the FMS Exam. Then I saw an ad in the paper regarding BIM Bangalore, and I
decided to do my MBA from this institute. BIM Bangalore was newly set-up, just
two years old and I had taken their entrance exam, just as various others did
who had work experience, The moment I knew that I had got selected, I pondered
about various alternatives and finally decided upon the MBA program at BIM
Bangalore.
Q. What was your first
step to start preparation for getting into the school of your choice?
A. Well, as I already emphasized above, I did not have any initial
intention of getting into a B-school, as I was more into the CA exam. But the
moment I saw the ad in the newspaper, I had started preparing from that day, and
I remember it was a one and a half month of preparation.
Q. Which MBA institutes
and programs you identified for your MBA?
A. I had won over 40 certificates of merits in Advertising and Marketing,
and as CAT wasn�t on my list, I wanted to get into Symbiosis for Mass
Communications or Business Management.
