Q. Was Group Discussion or Group Exercise part of selection process?
A. Yes.

Q. Date and location of Interview. Were you given the option to choose? Was the interview date fixed or rescheduled couple of times?
A. I don't remember the exact date, but all the IIM interviews were held in February and March. We were given the option of choosing the locations but not the dates. There was no rescheduling.

Q. The duration of GD, size of the group, number of panelists, etc.
A.Typically, the groups had around 10 members with an average size of 8 (Maximum - 13, Minimum - 6).

Q. What was your GD topic?
A. IIMB - A case study about a newspaper
IIMC - A topic regarding corruption
IIMK - An extract from the passage of a book (a paragraph)
IIML - Is parliament a waste of public money?
IIMI - A case dealing with personal issues.

Q. Tell us about your GD experience?
A. All the GDs I attended were peaceful with everyone having enough opportunities to put forth their points. I was expecting the GDs to be very noisy but it wasn't the case in all the 5 IIM GDs that I attended.

Q. Some handy tips that would be of great help.
A. Don't fret if you have not done very well in the GD, because in the IIM selection process, you can always make up during the interview. But if you have not spoken at all during the GD, then you must be ready with your reasons.

Q. Was Essay writing part of Interview process?
A. No. But during couple of the processes, we had to give a written summary of the discussion at the end.
