Background
Q. Can you tell
something about yourself and your pre-MBA qualifications?
A. Analytical, Articulate, Ambitious - these are the 3 A's that define
me. My personal qualities include strong leadership skills, highly effective
communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deliver results with
pragmatic approach and a strong desire to succeed. I am an avid goal-setter,
extremely passionate and highly-motivated individual. As I belong to a business
class family, I have experienced the growth, the stability and declination of
business since my teenage.
I completed B.E. from Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering in 2005. Though
I started as an average student, with time I realized the importance of studies
and by the end of final year, ended as one of the top-ten in university.
After my graduation, I left plush and highly-paid software jobs and joined
marketing field to pursue my interest full-time. I joined Omron Automation as a
sales and marketing engineer. Overall, I have a work experience of 10 months.
I even started a marketing research company and did one project, along with a
friend.
Q. So when did you
decide to go for MBA?
A. Since my interest was always in marketing field, and I believed MBA
was one of the ways to realize my dreams, I had decided to pursue management
immediately after I left college.
Q. What was your first
step to start preparation for getting into the school of your choice?
A. First step is introspection. I tried to evaluate my strengths and
weaknesses. I took a mock CAT. Next step was time management. I planned the time
left till the D-Day effectively, such that each subject got sufficient number of
days. Additionally, I had to leave sometime for revision and Mock CATS / JMET.
Q. Which MBA institutes
and programmes you identified for your MBA?
A. From the very beginning, I had decided to pursue my MBA from one of
the top-20 colleges in India. After graduating, I got admission in IMT, Nagpur.
But for some reasons, I decided to work for 1 year before getting admission.
Then IIT Kharagpur happened and I decided to take admission.
