Q. How many months and
how many hours daily did you devote for preparation to entrance procedures?
A. I devoted about 2 years for my preparation. The preparation was at a
regular pace of 1 hour per day during the first year. During the second year, it
was more irregular. The concentration was on building concepts in the first year
and consolidation of knowledge in second year.
Q. Did you take up some
coaching institute or you believed in self-study?
A. Yes, I joined a coaching institute.
Q. Can you tell us
which are your favorite books, books that you used for preparing for entrance,
books for self-development and books for pure relaxation?
A. Books for self development - All Ayn Rand books.
Pure Relaxation - LOTR.
Read through TIME and Career Launcher material for preparation.
Q. When did you start
your preparation?
A. Started my preparation in my final year of engineering.
Q. What are the other
books and tests which you used for your MBA preparation?
A. I was a student of Career Launcher in my first year of preparation and
TIME during second year of preparation. I found both coaching centers to be good
in content. I liked the TIME test series more.
Q. What were your
strongest and weakest areas while preparing for MBA coaching?
A. Strongest - Verbal; Weakest - DI.
Q. Some tips which you
used for mastering Quant, RC, etc.
A. Quant - practice a lot.
RC - keep reading with an intent to increase reading speed and comprehension.
Just reading like we always do would not help.
Q. How much time did
you put for MBA preparation everyday? How did you manage this while working
full-time?
A. I put in preparation during weekends and lean periods of work.
Q. Which all Exams and
B-schools you applied to?
A. Only IIMs.

A. IIM Kozhikode.
Q. What procedures your
school has for admission to its MBA program?
A. CAT, GD and Interview.

A. Above 99 percentile.
