JMET (Joint Management Entrance Test)
Appearing for Joint Management Entrance Test 2007 (JMET
2007) is the first step in the process of seeking admission to the
Post-Graduate Programmes in Management offered by IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay,
IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee to the 2-YEAR
FULL TIME Post-Graduate Degree Programmes in Management offered by IISc and the
IITs for the academic year beginning July/Aug 2007.
The IISc and participating IITs will use the results of JMET 2007
to short list candidates for the subsequent part of the selection process(es).
Applicants should note that they have to apply for and send separate application
forms to IISc and different IITs as per their choices.
Candidates are advised to refer to Participating Institutes for
brief profiles of schools/departments of management of IISc and participating
IITs. An applicant can apply to as many programmes as desired by him / her
subject to fulfillment of eligibility requirements.
Application/Registration Process for JMET 2007
There are two different processes by which a candidate can apply/register for
JMET 2007, namely, OFFLINE(by Post) and ONLINE(Internet based). Details of these
processes are given under How-to-Apply. The
registration-cum-application fee for offline applications is Rs.800/- for
General candidates and Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates. The fee for online
application is Rs. 750/- for General candidates and Rs. 350/- for SC/ST
candidates. The registration-cum-application fee is not refundable and the
application form is not transferable.

JMET 2007 Joint Management Entrance Test - Important Dates &
Deadlines
Candidates can appear in the examination only against valid
admit cards. Candidates generally receive Admit Cards by last week of November
2006. If they do not receive it by December 1, 2006, they should contact
GATE Office IIT Roorkee (quoting the Application
Number and Test City).
Although JMET 2007 is held at different cities all over India, Indian Institute
of Technology Roorkee is the Organizing Institute, and has overall
responsibility of conducting JMET 2007. In case of any claims or disputes
arising in respect of JMET 2007 it is hereby made absolutely clear that
the Courts and Tribunals in Haridwar and Haridwar alone shall have the exclusive
jurisdiction to entertain and settle any such disputes or claims.
How to Apply for JMET 2007
There are two different ways by which candidates can apply
for JMET 2007, namely Online Registration and Offline
Registration. Detailed information about each of these processes is
given below.
1. Online Registration for JMET 2007
Details of the Online Registration Process:
Application fee: Rs. 750 for general category and Rs. 350 for SC/ST category.
Online submission of application forms may be made by accessing the websites of
IISc, Bangalore and IITs. The candidate should pay the Application Fee through
an SBI ATM or through a Demand Draft in favour of "Chairman, GATE, IIT Roorkee"
drawn on any nationalized bank payable at �Roorkee�. The candidate should submit
the payment details while filling up the Online Form. Candidates are required to
take a print of the Online Application Form after successful submission of data.
The printed application form, with candidate�s signature and photograph at
appropriate places, and the Demand Draft / original ATM transaction-slip,
Attested copy of High School (Class X) Certificate as proof of age and copy of
the SC/ST/Disability Certificate, if applicable must be sent ONLY to The
Chairman, GATE, IIT Roorkee, Roorkee � 247 667 by Speed Post/ Registered Post.
Write your name and application number on the
back of the demand draft / ATM original transaction slip
The application fee is not refundable.
2. Offline Registration - Details of the
Offline Registration Process:
Application fee: Rs. 800 for general category and Rs. 400 for
SC/ST category. For sending the application by post (OFFLINE submission), JMET
2007 brochure and application form can be obtained by post from the GATE office
of the zone OR in person through cash payment from the Bank (Bank details of
respective IISc and IITs are given below) of the zone in which the test city,
selected by the candidate, is located. The request, accompanied by two
self-addressed slips and a demand draft for Rs.800/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST
categories) drawn in favour of the Institute concerned, has to be sent to the
Chairman of the respective GATE office.
The application fee is not refundable.
