SIBM, since its inception in 1978 has been following a tradition: the tradition of producing world class leaders. This tradition has been made possible by adopting various programmers which suit the existing business conditions.
About Us
SIBM, offers a two years MBA programme for residential students, Two and a half years Executive MBA progamme, One year Post Graduate Diploma programmes for the working professional and customised Executive Post Graduate Diploma programmes for the corporates. These programmes equip the students to handle the day-to-day business situations and perform outstandingly in the corporate world by imparting the requisite skill sets and adding value to the student. Established in 1978, SIBM is in its 30th year of service to the student community. It remains the flagship brand of Symbiosis and is recognized as one of the best Business Schools in India. In the year 1979, SIBM proved its pioneering self by becoming the only institute in Pune to organize a seminar outside the city precincts - in Mumbai. Soon the trend was set and others followed suit. The concept of Internships / Summer Training was another offering made by SIBM to Pune. It was in 1982 that learning cum training scheme was started. Supplementary training courses were included in the curriculum to supplement the Pune University syllabus. Little wonder that the same year SIBM started being ranked among the top 5 B-schools in India. The same year saw SIBM organize 3 national level seminars all outside the city of functioning. It would be interesting to point out that the first computer that was installed at SIBM was donated by students in 1987. Switch to the completely Wi-Fi enabled campus of 2005, also incidentally a students' initiative � SIBM has certainly come a long way. In 1990, permanent affiliation was received from Pune University � the only B-school to have ever received it. In 1996 the BASE programme was introduced, in addition to the curriculum of Pune University. The same year witnessed SIBM shift to its new campus with well-equipped infrastructure. The icing on the cake came in 2002 - when SIBM got the Deemed University status because of its excellent academic record. Further in 2006 the UGC vide its notification withdrew the word Deemed and renamed the University as Symbiosis International University (SIU).
CORPORATE EDUCATION
Based on the premise that education is an ongoing process, SIBM offers diploma programs customized and tailored to meet the specific needs of its corporate clients. While subscribing to the statement that it is human capital which will eventually make or break an organization, SIBM helps to identify and nurture the key resources in your organization, through modules specifically designed to build on their strengths. The successful completion of these courses entitles the participant to receive a regular University diploma through the Symbiosis International University, a qualification held by many to be superior to many MBA degree programs offered today by other B- schools. Several corporates have made full use of this facility: The number of batches running simultaneously today with SIBM is 34.
A range of different post graduate programs is being run today for various corporates like Wipro Technologies, Godrej Group of Companies, BMC Software, ZenSar Technologies, Bosch Chassis Ltd, Semco Electric Pvt. Ltd, HSBC, MphasiS EDS, WNS Global Services, Bank of America- Continuum Solutions etc. Several of these corporates are running multiple batches simultaneously. These programs are designated as:
