They are trained in financial planning, decision-making and control, corporate
finance, project finance and investment analysis, merchant banking, equity
analysis and research. Specialized areas include portfolio management, issue
management, treasury management, international finance, retail banking.
Finance specialization will open
opportunities for you in the following sectors: -
Banking: Most banks carry
out Consumer Banking, Investment Banking, Institutional Banking. These cover
individual accounts, management of securities and lending to corporate clients,
respectively.
Merchant Banking: It is
focused on public issues to raise capital required by organizations.
Non-Banking Finance: It is
of two types. One through small privately run organizations focused on hire,
purchase, leasing. Two, specialized public sector institutions concentrating on
shipping, housing finance, venture capital, etc.
