Q. Was Group Discussion
or Group Exercise part of selection process?
A. Yes. Group Discussion.
Q. The duration of
Group Discussion, size of the group, number of panelists, etc.
A. Duration was 20 minutes. We were given two topics and the group was
asked to choose one in 5 minutes. Group size was 10 people. Panelists were 2.
Q. What was your Group
Discussion topic?
A. "Expansion of UN Security Council & India's Gains from it", and
"Corporate Social Responsibility: Whether it should be Pursued as Philanthropy
or Business Strategy?
Q. Tell us about your
Group Discussion experience.
A. In our Group Discussion, we were told in the beginning that there will
be negative marks for trying to dominate the group. Hence, the Group Discussion
was relatively less chaotic. The level of intellect in the participants was
quite high and the experience was very valuable.
Q. How was the
environment during discussion?
A. It was less chaotic than a normal B-school Group Discussion. The
participants got absorbed in the discussion and very valuable inputs were made
to the discussion.

impression of the your team members and overall Group Discussion process.
A. Described above.
Q. Some handy tips that
would be of great help.
A. In TISS's Group Discussion, the most important virtue would be
composure. One must not try to dominate by speaking too much but make valuable
inputs at different points of time in the Group Discussion.

A. Described above.
