Q. How many months and
how many hours daily did you devote for preparation to entrance procedures?
A. Well, 3 months before the date of CAT is when I started my
preparations as I was also working that time. Starting with 2 to 3 hours
initially, it gradually got built up to 12 to 14 hours during the last stages.
Q. Did you take up some
coaching institute or you believed in self-study?
A. I do believe in self-study but also took a short crash course at a
coaching institute for the study material and the practice they provide in terms
of solving papers and Mock CAT exams.
Q. Can you tell us
which are your favorite books, books that you used for preparing for entrance,
books for self-development and books for pure relaxation?
A. No particular book, but I always had a habit of reading business
newspapers and magazine, which make you aware of current happenings.
Q. When did you start
your preparation?
A. To be precise, 3 months before the exams.
Q. Did you go for any
coaching?
A. Yes, I did.
Q. What was your
experience with coaching? Some feedback about faculty, coaching material and
your overall experience with particular center.
A. I was enrolled with IMS coaching center for 3 months. It was a good
experience as it helped to brush up various skills. I believe the material
provided was comprehensive.
Q. What are the others
books and tests which you used for your MBA preparation?
A. Just material provided by coaching center and other notes from
friends.
Q. What was your
strongest and weakest area while preparing for MBA coaching?
A. I guess it was English and GK that were strongest.
Q. Some tips which you
used for mastering Quant, RC, etc.
A. Just practice.
Q. Which all Exams and
B-schools you applied to?
A. CAT, XAT and NMAT.
Q. Your present
B-school and course.
A. Bharthidasan Institute of Management, Trichy.
Q. What procedures your
school has for admission to its MBA program?
A. From the current year onwards, the procedure will be initial
shortlisting on basis of CAT score followed by a GD and Personal Inteview.
Q. What is the range of
score for students who are admitted?
A. Not aware, but it changes from year to year, normally above 90
percentile.
