Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP)
Approved by AICTE and recognized by AIU as equivalent to MBA,
the programme equips participants with fundamental manage-ment
skills and in-depth knowledge of their chosen area of specialization.
IMI through its international alliances has evolved a contemporary
programme with focus on core management areas and offers carefully
selected elective courses which are regularly up-dated.
Objectives:
To prepare
the participants to manage and lead in an increasingly integrated
business environment that transcends national borders.
To develop conceptual and analytical skills and an in-depth
understanding of functional areas
To gain practical business experience
Eligibility Criteria for Post Graduate Programs
A Bachelor's degree in any discipline under 10 + 2+ 3 system
as recognised by AIU. Candidates appearing in the final year
of their bachelor's degree are also eligible, provided they
complete all formalities of their examination before June 30,
2007 and furnish the proof of having met the minimum eligibility
criteria by September 30, 2007
Admission Procedure
Application
Form: IMI brochure and application form can be acquired:
� By cash payment of Rs.300/- at IMI.
� By post (enclosing demand draft for Rs.300/- drawn in favour
of "International Management Institute" payable at
Delhi)
� By downloading from www.imi.edu
� On-line application through
www.imi.edu (on-line availability and mailing of Brochure
and Application material will begin from August 16, 2006).
Application Submission:
� By payment of Rs.800/- by demand draft drawn in favour of
IMI payable at Delhi or by cash at IMI.
� Applicants who have downloaded the form from www.imi.edu
have to enclose a demand draft for Rs.1100/- drawn in favour
of "International Management Institute" payable at
Delhi or by cash at IMI.
� Applicants who apply on-line need to make a payment of Rs.1100/-
by credit card.
Admission Test:
Candidates are
required to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted
by Indian Institutes of Management at different Centres all
over the country. The CAT examination will be held on November
19, 2006. IMI will receive the test scores from the IIM for
those candidates who have appeared in the CAT and have also
applied to IMI for the two-year PGP. IMI uses CAT scores for
short-listing candidates. IIMs have no role either in the selection
process or in the conduct of the programme.
Foreign students and NRI sponsored candidates are required to
take the Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) at a test
centre outside India.
Group
Discussion and Interview: The Group Discussion and personal
interview are integral components of the admission process.
The objective is to identify and assess interpersonal skills
in addition to the overall knowledge of the student. Besides
Delhi, the Group Discussion and Personal Interview are normally
conducted at other centres Bangalore, Chandigarh, Guwahati,
Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Jaipur, Trivandrum & Hyderabad.
Candidates should indicate their preferred centre(s) for group
discussion and interview in the application form. If a candidate's
preferred centre is not available, the candidate will be informed
of the change. IMI reserves the right to cancel any of the centres
for group discussion and interview.
Post Graduate Program in International Management (PGPIM)
A
11-month transformational programme for enabling executives
with some work experience to take up globally-oriented management
positions. The course is designed, monitored and continually
upgraded by an Advisory Council comprising business leaders,
management experts as well as officers from governmental and
international agencies. The curriculum develops international
perspectives on business competitiveness. Therefore executives
are prepared for roles as globally-oriented managers. It also
develops skills in working with international teams and networks.
Teaching methods include experience-sharing and mentoring
by practicing managers from leading Indian and multinational
companies as well as case study discussions and classroom interactions.
The faculty at IMI includes first rate instructors over
one-third of who have academic qualifications from the best
known universities in the US and Europe. Guest faculty is drawn
from leading international business schools, diplomats and senior
managers from global companies, both Indian and foreign.
International exposure through a two-week study in a
leading business school in North America, East Asia or Europe
as well as one week of visits to companies, business institutions
and international agencies as a part of learning to do business
in other countries. Developing cross-cultural sensitivities
through interactions on campus with participants from different
backgrounds and guest faculty inputs from diplomatic missions
and with senior expatriate managers in MNCs across the globe.
Application of learning through work on a project guided
by IMI faculty. The project may be chosen, monitored and supported
by the sponsoring company, in which case the sponsoring company
benefits from a professionally conducted study on a relevant
subject done by its own executives.
Admission Procedure
Candidates
will be required to take a written test administered by IMI
to assess knowledge of Mathematics and English. This will be
followed by an interview to assess suitability for benefiting
from the course. International students under the Government
of India Scholarship Programme will be interviewed at the Indian
Embassy in their country.
Post Graduate Program in Management (PGPM)
Keeping
in view the commitment of IMI to promote post-experience management
education in the country, the three-year Post-Graduate Programme
(Part-time) in Management (PGPM) was started by the Institute
in July 1986. This programme is recognized by Ministry of Human
Resources, Govt. of India, and All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE).
The programme is designed to impart knowledge and skills in
the basic and functional areas of management. It is meant for
young individuals who are working as middle/junior level executives/
officers in public or private sector organizations, but have
not had an opportunity to acquire formal management education.
Being a part-time (evening) programme, it is open to those working
in and around Delhi.
Objectives:
To develop
analytical, problem solving and decision making capabilities
among the participants by exposing them to the use of various
management tools and techniques
To develop conceptual and analytical skills and an in-depth
understanding of functional areas
To stimulate
understanding of the real business world through emphasis on
cases that
simulate real-life situations
IMI follows the Calendar of July to April as its academic year
with slight modifications as may be necessary on year-to-year
basis. Detailed schedules for each Trimester are provided at
the beginning of the term.

and financial institutions
Eligible
candidates must fulfill the following requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized Indian (10+2+3
system) or foreign university.
Have a minimum of 2 years post-degree full-time experience at
executive level
