The Small Business Administration (SBA), an agency of the U.S. government that supports MBAs and entrepreneurs who are launching startups, has protected and generated more than 560 positions in Pawtucket by administering about $2.5 million in small business loans, according to The Valley Breeze.
"We just completed our 230th Rhode Island loan since the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act went into effect," said Mark Hayward, the SBA's district director in the Ocean State.
Hayward also said that since President Obama's stimulus bill took effect in February and led to the issuance of no-interest loans, 28 small businesses have applied for one guaranteed by the SBA.
