The U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship will host its Small Business Outreach Conference in Thibodaux on October 16, 2009. The committee's chair, Mary Landrieu, will attend along with officials from the Small Business Administration (SBA) and Louisiana Economic Development (LED).
The conference will focus on helping small business owners in Louisiana use both state and federal assistance programs. Louisianan professionals have access to LED's Small and Emerging Business Development Program and any qualified American can take advantage of the SBA's lending program and federal contracting opportunities regardless of where they live.
The committee has already held similar conferences in a host of Louisianan cities, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans. After the Thibodaux event, there will be one more in Monroe.
