Well, looks like the new age protestor's weapon is a shoe!
Previously in December 2008 former US President Bush was the target when an Iraqi television journalist threw a shoe at him.
In February 2009, a protestor hurled a shoe at Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao while he was speaking in Cambridge University and called him a dictator. China promptly censored the news in its local media.
Now home minister P Chidambaram is has joined this "exclusive club". A shoe was hurled at him at a press conference in Delhi today while he was replying to question by a Sikh journalist on the CBI's clean chit to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
The shoe missed its target as Chidambaram moved. Then the minister smiled and asked security to escort the man out of the room. "Please take him out...gently, gently, gently," Chidambaram said.
