(Exec-PGP)
For Working Executives
The
Programme
XLRI has been offering this three
year programme since June 2000 for the working executives in India who have the
potential to reach higher levels in the hierarchy of the management. The Exec-PG
programme provides executives with an opportunity to earn a Postgraduate Diploma
in Business Management without interrupting their career. The curriculum is
similar to that of the BM programme and it exposes them to a wide range of
management theories and practices.
The participants in India spend
18-20 days in the Campus thrice a year to complete the course requirements. They
are expected to do additional work as carry-home projects and assignments. The
mix of participants, which includes entrepreneurs and executives from various
functional areas, provides an enabling environment for learning. The Institute
awards the Postgraduate Diploma in Management to the participants who
successfully complete all the requirements of this programme.
From October 2001, the Institute also began offering the Exec-PG programme in
Dubai in collaboration with the Al Abbas Institute of Technology.
Eligibility
Candidates applying for the three
year Executive Postgraduate programme must hold a minimum of three years
Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University in India/abroad in any
discipline; should be employed in a full-time job, must have at least two years
of relevant managerial experience as on May 31, 2006 in an organisation of
repute in the public, private or non-governmental sector after completing
graduation and the necessary permission from the employer for pursuing this
programme.
To register for XAT, candidates have to fill the XAT Form that is available
online at www.xlri.edu/xat. Once the candidate logs on to this site, a
full set of instructions will appear and following them, the candidate can
obtain his/her ID and password. This ID and password are to be indicated for all
the future correspondence with XAT Office, Jamshedpur. For writing the XAT, the
candidates should select their convenient cities from the list of city-choices
available on the web site.

XLRI is available only online at http://www.xlri.edu. Once the candidate
logs on to this site, a full set of instructions will appear guiding the
candidates to register for admission to XLRI.

Dates
The final list of the successful candidates in XAT and those of the candidates
who subsequently succeed in the selection interviews for admission to XLRI will
be posted at www.xlri.ac.in and www.xlri.edu
Academic
Programme
The Exec-PGP is organized in 9
terms. Each term spans about three months. Participants� visit to campus may be
termed as Campus Visit (CV). Participants are expected to stay on campus for
about 18 to 20 days in a term. This period is announced to the participants in
advance so that they can arrange for their leave of absence from their
respective organizations. During the period of their stay on campus, as the
participants need to participate in intensive classroom sessions, they are
required to be available full time. During this period there will be no holidays
or any other break.
