One Year Post
Graduate Programme in Management
for Executives (PGPX)
About the
Programme
PGPX is a full-time residential
programme for executives with substantial work experience leading to a One
Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Management for Executives.
The design of PGPX is built on
the Institute's well established experience of designing and running
postgraduate management programmes for exceptionally bright students and a wide
range of executive education programmes for practicing managers from many
countries. It takes into account the substantial and varied experience the
selected executives bring to the classroom.
The objective of the programme is
to develop bright, enthusiastic, and aspirational executives into management
leaders and change agents in the global arena.
The programme has a general
management focus, with emphasis on managing across borders and cultures. It has
an international project (called International Immersion) besides teaching
content drawn from many countries.
The programme is open to
executives of all nationalities.
Executives who have a bachelor's
degree or equivalent in any discipline and are 27 or above at the start of the
programme may apply. Corporate sponsorship is welcome but not essential.
Participants are selected through a rigorous admissions process that includes
GMAT (www.mba.com), leadership profiling and personal interviews.
At the end of the programme,
placement services are provided to non-sponsored participants.
World class infrastructure has
been created on the Institute's hundred acre campus. Accommodation is available
for both single and married participants.
The application form for the
second programme (2007-08) which begins on April 1, 2007 is available online
from March 6, 2006. The deadline for receipt of applications is August 10, 2006
with GMAT (www.mba.com) score obtained between April 1, 2003 and August
10, 2006. To ensure that scores are sent directly to IIMA, please enter GMAT
Code for IIMA - PGPX: CQQ-RR-60. The admission process will be completed by
October 31, 2006.
The fee for the second programme
(2007-08) is INR 1,000,000 (approximately USD 23,500) for a single participant.
This includes tuition, academic expenses like basic programme material, library
and network charges, mess charges and accommodation. The fee also covers similar
heads for the International Immersion segment including the travel to and from

Induction: This segment
enables the participant to: -
get familiar with the
infrastructure, services, co curricular and extra curricular activities at IIMA.
tune into the programme content
and IIMA system of learning.
understand the self while making
the transition to the PGPX and the future.
This is spread over three and a
half days.
Building Blocks: This
segment crystallizes and enhances the basic conceptual and analytical knowledge
of the participant for managerial effectiveness. This has seventeen courses,
offered by nine Areas, spread over 240 sessions.
Preparing for Top Management:
This segment prepares the participant for leadership and change agent roles in a
top management context. This has fifteen courses, spread over 180 sessions.
