& Policy (PGP-PMP)

The
Programme
PGP-PMP is a full time
residential programme for mid-career executives with at least 7 years of work
experience. The programme leads to a Post Graduate Diploma in Public
Management & Policy awarded by the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
The programme builds upon the
excellence of IIMA in management teaching and research, and its considerable
experience in policy research and consultancy to take management to the domains
of public policy, service provision and regulation, and management of public
organizations and enterprises.
The programme is open to bright
and motivated mid-career managers and administrators / professionals of NGOs of
all nationalities who intend to take up challenging top management positions in
public management and policy. Candidates from Asia and Africa are especially
invited to apply. With strong foundations in the conceptual and analytical
dimensions of management and policy, the curriculum is also designed to build on
the experience of participants.
Eligibility
Criteria
1. A bachelor's degree or
equivalent in any discipline.
2. Seven or more years of work experience by March 2007.
3. GMAT, GRE, or CAT score. GMAT / GRE score should have been obtained between
April 1, 2004 and November 20,.2006, and CAT score from any of the last three
CATs.
4. Candidates not having GRE / GMAT / CAT may also apply. Such candidates would
be short-listed based on their application rating and invited for lIMA's
specially designed test.
5. Personal Interview.
Admission
Procedure
Application form for the first
programme (2007-08) which begins on April 1, 2007 is available online. The
deadline for receipt of applications is November 20, 2006 with GMAT (www.mba.com)
/ GRE (www.ets.org) score obtained between April 1, 2004 and November 20,
2006 or CAT score from any of the last three CATs. To ensure that GMAT scores
are sent directly to IIMA, please enter IIMA PGP-PMP Code: CQQ-RR:62.
Candidates without GMAT / GRE /
CAT may also apply but they will be short-listed on the basis of application
rating for a specially designed test at IIMA. All short-listed candidates are
expected to spend a day at IIMA meeting with faculty and in a test and/or
interview. The admission process will be completed by December 31, 2006.
Selected candidates are expected to make their own arrangements for obtaining
leave, etc., from their organizations.
Fees &
Expenses
The fee, excluding board and
lodging, but including international attachment / exchange, is Rs. 600,000 lakhs
(US $ 13,950), and including board and accommodation about Rs. 838,000 (US $
19,490). For the civil servant candidates of the Government of India, the fees
would be Rs. 450,000 and about Rs. 688,000 respectively.
Financial
Aid
Fellowships to cover part or full
tuition and related fee would be available to top 10 per cent of participants.
Several banks are interested in offering loans to those admitted to PGP-PMP.
