Ahmedabad, one of the liveliest cities in India and one of the major industrial centers in India, has often been called the Manchester of East. Ahmedabad is the largest city in Gujarat and the sixth largest city in India with population of almost 5 million. The city is also knowns as Karnavati. Ahmedabad got its name from sultan Ahmed Shah who founded it in 1411 AD situated on the bank of the river Sabarmati, Ahmedabad is known for its beautiful monuments of historical archeological importance. Today, this city has left behind its past and has turned and developed itself into a leading industrial centre and has become economic capital of Gujarat.
