A square sheet of paper is converted into a cylinder by rolling it along its length. What is the ratio of the base radius to the side of the square?

(1)	1/ 2*3.14			(2)	21/2/3.14

Solution:


Surface area of the cylinder = Surface area of the square   2* 3.14 ah= a²

Here height 'h' of the cylinder = side of the square since it is rolled along its length. 2 * 3.14 * a = a²

Base radius r = a  /  2*3.14

Ratio of base radius to side of square =a / 2*3.14 :  a =1  /  2*3.14
