June 04, 2009 Southern Illinois University Carbondale joins the ever-increasing list of
universities offering online MBA courses, offering the opportunity for students
to obtain either their MBA or their Master of Accountancy degree on the
internet
"This is a great convenience for those wanting to complete their MBA or Master
of Accountancy degree. It's designed for working professionals so they can
obtain their master's without putting their career on hold," said Meredith A.
Rhoads, chief marketing officer for the College of Business.
The addition of a master's degree in accounting to the online options is a
forward-looking one, according to some experts who see a high demand for
executives with a background in the field.
Tomorrow's executives are today's accountants," says Gene Siciliano, a Los
Angeles based financial management consultant. "Consequently, aspiring
accountants need to know that companies are looking for candidates who can do
much more than crunch numbers."
Both SIUC online degrees are two-year programs. The intention, according to J.
Dennis Cradit, dean of the College of Business, is to provides students access
to the same faculty who teach the traditional programs but with the convenience
of learning at their own pace.If distance learning appeals to you, perhaps it is time to look into an online
MBA program.
