PGDSM-MIT (Post Graduate
Diploma in Systems Management & Master of Information Technology) is a two
year globally focused dual degree program in systems management awarded by
SPJIMR in collaboration with Virginia Tech, USA. These placement
statistics lucidly demonstrate that there is a growing demand for managers with
strong business acumen along with ability to appreciate and handle technology.
With this as the vision, SPJIMR joined hands with Virginia Tech and pioneered
the concept of this unique dual degree program in 2004. The firm footing that
the course has gained in the industry coupled with the growing trend for such
foreign collaborations reinforces SPJIMR's vision to bring in international
exposure and global focus to management education. text
Without doubt, SPJIMR's
innovative pedagogy and ingenious education model to cater to the demands of the
industry are well-received. The foreign offers made this year for this course
are indicative of the value of the association with Virginia Tech. In times to
come, the industry, the academia and the government bodies have to come together
and take up the responsibility of creating, nurturing and sustaining such
promising courses. The nation's interests will be well-served if the regulatory
authorities embark on a facilitating role rather than just a regulating role.
