NSE's Vice President
Conducts Lecture at TISS, Mumbai
TISS as a B-school
under-promises and over-delivers. In the same vein, it stresses on the holistic
development of its budding HR managers. With this objective in mind, the
Human Resources Management & Labour Relations Forum (HRM-LR Forum)
invited Mr. Arup Mukherji, Vice President NCFM (NSE's Certification in
Financial Markets), NSE.
Could there be a better way then
to learn about the nitty-gritty of the Indian stock markets than from a
representative of NSE, the largest stock market in India (90% of the volume of
transactions per day), with over 2 crore investors and over 1000 brokers across
the country?
He started by explaining how the
nature of transactions have changed in the Indian stock markets since their
early days. He also threw some light on how technology has changed the face (and
also the fortunes of Corporate India) of stock markets in the last decade.
Thereafter, he went head along
into the explanation of various instruments that are available to the investors
of this country and how each instrument is different from the other. The
explanations were so lucid and simple, even laymen would have understood the art
of investing. The lecture was not just useful from the point of view of
academics, but also from the point of view of personal financial planning for
the students.
The invitees included students
from other schools within TISS as well. They all went back appreciating the
adroitness of the speaker and the knowledge that they acquired from the
initiative that HRM-LR Forum undertook.
The season of such knowledge
gathering sessions is far from over and many more lectures and talks from
diverse sets of eminent people will help TISSians to hone up their weaponry
before they take on their challenges in the hyper-competitive world of business.
