'Tata Crucible - The
Campus Quiz 2008' Launches its 4th Edition
Extended to Colleges Across 12
Cities from the Earlier 8 Cities

Quiz, The Tata Crucible Campus Quiz, is back with its 4th edition. The
unique Campus Business Quiz, catering to students of Engineering Colleges,
Business Schools and other collegiate students will commence on
Saturday, February 2, 2008 in Hyderabad.
In this edition, the Campus Quiz
will be extended to colleges in 12 cities from the previous 8 cities of
Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, and Pune. The
four new cities are Lucknow, Indore, Kochi and Chandigarh.
The Tata Crucible Campus Quiz
2008 will begin on February 2, 2008 starting with Hyderabad and moving on to
Ahmedabad (Feb. 3), Mumbai (Feb. 9), Lucknow (Feb. 10), Kochi (Feb. 12), Indore
(Feb. 16), Bangalore (Feb. 17), Kolkata (Feb. 23), Chandigarh (Feb. 29), Delhi
(March 2) Chennai (March 8) and Pune (March 9). Registrations are open on

The Tata Crucible Campus Quiz is
known for producing new innovations in the Crucible format to keep the audience
interest levels high at all times during the quiz: starting from the Bandwidth
Quizzing to 20:20 Quizzing, to Pyramid Quizzing. This year, students will
witness yet another innovation, which will be completely new and stimulating.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr.
Romit Chaterji, Sr. Vice-President Corporate Affairs Department, Tata

the toughest quiz in India, has witnessed huge participation year-on-year. The
response received has provided the impetus to extend the quiz to 4 new cities,
thus, reaching out to students in 12 cities across India. This year we will also
be introducing a novel innovation which quizzing in India has not seen before."
Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2008,

Biggest live campus business quiz
in terms of the scale and stakes for this segment - The eventual national winner
would profit by Rs. 2.6 Lakhs while the total value of the prizes at stake is
over Rs. 25 Lakhs.
Innovative software powered
rounds - The quiz would also feature hi-tech rounds that would not test the
teams on their understanding of business but presence of mind, teamwork, and
decision making as well.
Fair Play Scoring system - This
interesting system of scoring introduced by the quiz-master, received a lot of
positive feedback and will be included again this year during the finals whereby
all teams on stage would have an equal opportunity to answer every question
posed in the quiz.
Tata Motors, Tata Steel,
Tata Asset Management, Tata Indicom and Ginger Hotels will
also be awarding prizes at the 2008 Campus Crucible Quiz.
To
Participate
Selection Process: A
two-member student team, from the same accredited degree college or higher-level
educational institution, can participate in the quiz. A number of teams from
same institution can participate.
No Registration Fee.
Prelims: A written
elimination consisting of 20-25 questions for all contestants will be held at
each regional round followed by the Regional Final.
Regional Final: The top 6
teams from the written prelims will directly qualify for the Regional Finals
held at the same venue.
The top four institutions from
the prelim will make it to the final directly.
Two teams from the next best
teams will get an opportunity to be a part of the Regional Finals through a wild
card entry.
Wild Card Rounds: A
certain number of teams from 5th team onwards will face off in wild card round/s
of six teams each to make it to final.
National Final: The
winning team from the Regional Final will participate in the National Final
scheduled to be held in Mumbai on March 17, 2008.
Rules /
Guidelines
The decision of the organizers /
quizmaster will be final and binding.
Team composition cannot be
changed after the prelims.
Teams can participate only from
the city where the institution they represent is located. Institutions from
cities where the event is not held may choose to participate in the closest city
where the event is being held.
The winning team at each regional
level will be provided travel and accommodation arrangements by the organizers
of the quiz to participate in the National Final.
