In our quest to bring you
innovative programs to inspire or re-kindle entrepreneurial spirit, we are proud
to announce a new series, 'Legends and Leaders'. As the name implies,
this program is going to feature individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary
success in their chosen fields, and thus, have become living legends and
leaders.
These individuals are willing to share their life experiences candidly and
freely in an intimate setting. The inaugural series will feature none other than
Dr. Saurabh Srivastava and Mr. Kiran Karnik.

entrepreneurial environment in India. People like Dr. Saurabh Srivastava
have driven this entrepreneurial aspiration for decades. Through this interview,

Dr. Srivastava's story represents
in many ways the epitome of entrepreneurial successes, wherein he personifies
all the essential elements of being a successful entrepreneur and an outstanding
achiever. His entrepreneurial journey in many ways exemplifies the spirit of
entrepreneurship and proves to the world at large that despite having little or
no resources you can still be a true leader and a legend.
He co-founded and chaired NASSCOM
founded TiE in India and is currently its President. He chairs the
Indian Venture Capital Association and Asia Pacific Venture Capital
Association. He is on the advisory board of the Imperial College Business
School, London and adjunct Professor of entrepreneurship at IIT Mumbai, IIT
Kanpur as conferred on him "The Distinguished Alumnus Award" and the
University of Wolverhampton as awarded him an Honorary Doctorate in
Technology.

Mr. Karnik has been the guiding
force for the Indian IT industry during the outsourcing backlash. By providing
perspective and background information, Mr. Karnik has been instrumental in
promoting India's technology strength to the world.
To fuel growth in the domestic
market, Mr. Karnik has lobbied with the government to announce tariff cuts on
computer hardware. He has recently been awarded as the 'DATAQUEST IT Person of
the Year 2005', for championing India's case during the strong anti-outsourcing
wave in the US, and having led NASSCOM
into being recognized as a brand and taking Brand India to a global platform in
the software and services space. Business Week named Mr. Karnik as one of
the 'Stars of Asia.' He was also selected as Forbes Magazine's 'Face of
the Year 2003,' for being a driving force behind India's offshoring wave.
