BIM Trichy to
Organize Annual Symposium 'The Athenaeum'
On 17th & 18th March, 2007
Bharathidasan Institute of
Management has always been a podium for new ventures and a souvenir of success
stories. The Centre for Contemporary Management Research is one such beginning
aimed at providing a stage for scholarly work in a splendid plethora.
As a part of the centre's activities ATHENAEUM - An Annual Symposium is
all set to unfold its wings. The CECMAR intends among its many research
endeavors to bring out a quarterly journal of scholarly articles, papers
starting from 2007.
Athenaeum is derived from the
Greek "Athenion", the temple of Goddess Athena. Athena is the Goddess of
Wisdom and of course Civilization itself. The "Athenion" temple of
ancient Greece also symbolized the place where scholars congregated to
deliberate and nurture Philosophy and Thought.
The Athenaeum at BIM is such an
endeavour where we plan a confluence of academicians who gather to discuss and
deliberate topics on contemporary management research. BIM have chosen two broad
functional themes for this year's event - Human Resources Management and
Systems & IT Management for its two day deliberations.
The process is initiated with a
call for research papers from the Academia and Industry. The abstracts received
are sent for a blind review to an expert panel of eminent research scholars who
are associated with us in advisory and contributory roles. The scholars whose
abstracts have been short-listed by the review panel are then requested to
formally send in their full papers for a peer review. At the end of the peer
review process, the selected papers are short-listed for presentation on the day
of the Symposium which will be graced by eminent personalities from the Academic
world and the Industry.
The event intends to showcase
scholarly work from academia and industry on the same platform, providing a
professional forum of idea interchange. The deliberations and learnings that are
gleaned out of this conference are planned to be published as a compendium of
papers by a leading publishing house in the country.
