Megabucks '07 at
IIT-Kanpur Organizing 'Battlefield' - the Case Study Competition
'Megabucks' is one of the
biggest business and entrepreneurship festivals held in India. Over the years,
Megabucks has gained great recognition among the academia and the corporate
world and can boast of building a strong network of successful businessmen,
venture capitalists, angel investors and academia.
Battlefield - the Case Study
Competition - is one of the main highlights of Megabucks. In this age of
competition and progressive development, business can no longer remain as a
once-established enterprise, but requires constant re-evaluation and innovation.
To have it in you to be a thinker and a visionary is what it takes to be a
business analyst. Battlefield brings to you an opportunity to try your hands at
analyzing a case, your first step towards being a successful business analyst of
tomorrow.
The competition consists of
mainly two evaluation stages, namely Analysis of the Case and
Presentation of the Case. Participants have a choice between three cases -
Stage Extenso, Stage Vivendi and Stage Origo. The finalists
from Stage Extenso will be presenting directly in front of the judging panel
including Prof. G. Raghuram, Faculty, IIM Ahmedabad, who has
provided us with the case. The last date for submitting this case is 27h March
2007, 23:59 hrs. The shortlisted participants from Stage Vivendi and Stage Origo
will be presented with a copy of Maverick and Services Marketing
People, Technology, Strategy respectively and will be invited to IIT Kanpur
campus to solve another case provided by Evalueserve, India's leading
provider of KPO services. The finalists from this will then present in front of
the judging panel including dignitaries from Evalueserve and professors of
Industrial and Management Engineering Department of IIT Kanpur who have provided
us with the first stage cases. The last date for submitting this case is 24h
March 2007, 23:59 hrs. The institute intends to have a total of 16-20 finalists
for the final presentation, 8-10 from Stage Extenso and 8-10 from Stage Vivendi
and Stage Origo combined (these finalists are after the analysis of second
case). All case analysis to be submitted to
[email protected]. A total cash prize of 50,000 INR is at stake; so
put on your thinking caps and let the tiny grey cells get down to work.
Megabucks is also organizing
various other events the center attraction of which is iDeas - the Business
Plan Competition. We have already completed the first two stages of
evaluation, that is the Executive Summaries and detailed Business Plans have
been submitted and a bench of 30 eminent judges, including professors from IITs
and IIMs, renowned venture capitalists and stalwarts from the corporate world,
has already selected the finalists. We have finalists from various IITs, famous
B-schools and trained professionals who are looking forward to starting a
business venture of their own.
